Allman Brothers Band
Gregg Allman on finding new guitarists: “One is tiramisu, one is crème brûlée. They’re all just sexually delicious.”
“The great thing that Gregg Allman and the Allman Brothers and a lot of people from that era did best is they let the music be the music.” – Eric Church
“As for the rumor of the brothers breaking up after 45 years… that is a rumor.”
“It honors the legacy to leave it at a really high mark.”
Earlier this week, the Allman Brothers Band announced that will be postponing the remaining four dates of their annual residency in New York City, due to the band’s leader and namesake, Gregg Allman, suffering from bronchitis.
If this is really the last one, they’re going out on top.
“The sound he found helped change the way the world perceived the South.”
Following the announcement that Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes are leaving at the end of this year, Allman decides to retire the band.
Haynes first joined the band 25 years ago; Trucks has been a member for 15 years.
Meanwhile, Allman is working on two solo albums.
