Ice Cube Fires Back at Gene Simmons – Again

By Annie Reuter

The beef between Ice Cube and Gene Simmons continues.

Just days after Simmons fired back at MC Ren’s dig from N.W.A.‘s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, in which Ren took the podium and criticized the Kiss co-founder’s comment that he’s “looking forward to the death of hip-hop,” Ice Cube has taken to Twitter to re-enter the fray.

“Who stole the soul? Chuck Berry, Little Richard and Chubby Checkers (sic) help invent Rock ‘n’ Roll. We invent it. Y’all reprint it,” Ice Cube said in his tweet.

Then he posted a photo of a portion of his Rock Hall speech with a message to Simmons. “I repeat. And say this with a Kiss,” he writes.

Yesterday afternoon (April 11), Simmons acknowledged Cube’s argument but stood his ground.

“Cube – I stand by my words. Respect N.W.A., but when Led Zep gets into Rap Hall of Fame, I will agree with your point.”

Seems like a diss track isn’t too far off.
