All the luck is with you when you turn 100-years old because not everyone gets to reach the triple digits.
From a letter sent this week by our listener Joni DeMaio, Scott and the morning show got to talk to her great grandmother-in-law who turns a century old today.
Emma DeMaio of Hawthorne, NJ is a healthy and independent woman with seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. And according to Joni, Emma knows all of their names, birthdays, and never forgets a card.
“I remember and I love ‘em dearly,” she told the morning show.
When asked about what she does all day to keep herself going, Emma mentions she dusts around the house to keep it clean and sometimes rakes the leaves.
“That’s how you live to be 100,” she says.
However it’s not just the house chores, Emma loves to have fun too. Taking sips of cocktails with her grandchildren, and, of course, heading to casinos at Atlantic City.
“I love it!” she says. “That’s where I’m headed for today!”
In addition to the celebration, the Big Show is sending out a special birthday cake from Hawthorne’s very own Nick Joe & Mike and their Cake Specialty & Pastry Shop.
Cheers to living a long life!
