Checking in on the Big Show #StarPhone this morning is “Mr College of Charleston 1998” pageant winner/co-star of the smash hit “The Good Wife” on CBS 2, Matt Czuchry.
Matt plays hot shot lawyer Cary Agos on “The Good Wife” along with a great cast – including Juliana Margulies, Chris Noth, Christine Baranski, Alan Cumming, Michael J. Fox and so many more.
But don’t think we’re going to pass over that “Mr College of Charleston,” tidbit.
“It’s funny how opportunities come to you,” Matt explained. “It was a charity event. I went to the College of Charleston, and all the guys were joking about it, of course, backstage. But what you could win with it, I saw that there were acting classes. In that moment I was like, ‘I wanna win this thing, this is an opportunity!'”
Getting back on topic, morning show co-host Patty Steele has been following along since the beginning of ‘The Good Wife’ and is fascinated by Matt’s character.
“I think what’s so unique about it,” Matt says about ‘The Good Wife’, “you know we’re in our sixth season, and we’ve done well over 100 episodes and that people are still following the show and [are] interested in these characters really speaks to – hopefully – everybody on the show in terms of the writing, in terms of the cast coming to deliver.”
“It’s a rare thing for that to happen this late in the series,” Czuchry continued. “So I think that makes it pretty cool.”
If you’re not caught up with the show, like our girl Patty is, there may be some spoilers involved here.
“Coming up on Sunday,” Matt says, “the episode is called ‘The Trial,’ it’s the tenth episode of the season and this whole season’s been surrounding that case involving ‘Bishop’ and we’re going to see some more stuff… in terms of ‘Bishop’ protecting his interests.”
But will Matt be there next season? That’s the burning question in Patty’s mind.
“You know,” Matt laughs, “the truth of the matter on that is it’s really an easy question for me to answer. When I signed on for the pilot in 2009 we didn’t know what was going to happen, how long the show was going to be on. That contract I signed was for six years and this is the sixth season, this is the sixth year.”
Dun… dun… dunnnn!
“There haven’t been any conversations about the show coming back or me coming back.” Matt says, “and that’s the truth where things lie right now.”
