As members of the original Jersey Boys cast, they performed on stage together over 1,000 times. Needless to say, their chemistry is second to none. That’s why an idea which began backstage between Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard, and Robert Spencer seemed like a no-brainer.
The Midtown Men are currently on their fifth national tour, diving deep into the 1960s songbook by performing hits from The Beatles, The Rascals, The Turtles, The 4 Seasons, and many Motown hits. The success hasn’t gone unnoticed, as one of the musicians making up The Midtown Men’s repertoire decided to join them on stage.
“This is our fifth North American tour we’re on. We’ve done over 350 shows together all over the continent,” says Daniel Reichard. “And at a few of them we’ve been blessed to have Gene Cornish from The Rascals… got up on stage and do that number (“Groovin'”).”
Cornish can also be seen with The Midtown Men during their concert special, which airs November 29th at 7PM on NJTV. “It’s just such an incredible moment for the four of us,” adds Reichard. “That’s really been the big thrill of this… connect with the artists that created this music and made it become a part of our national heritage.”
The Midtown Men will be performing at The Golden Nugget in Atlantic City on Sunday, November 9th. Tickets for that show are available through ticketmaster.com.
