The Amazing Race returns to CBS tonight for an incredible 25th edition. The show pits teams against each other in a race that would make even the most well-traveled wanderlust jealous for the chance at a $1 million prize.
Long-time host for the 10-time Emmy Award winning show Phil Keoghan called up the CBS-FM Star Phone to talk about the show’s ability to appeal to audiences for such a lengthy period of time.
“Our stage is not the dancing stage or the singing stage… It’s the world,” says Keoghan. “These people who are coming to race in the world are not good dancers or good singers… They are candy scientists, wrestlers, firefighters, they’re dentists, they’re soul surfers… They couldn’t be more different.”
“New faces, new places,” added Keoghan, “those ingredients make the show inherently fresh.”
The 25th edition of The Amazing Race premieres tonight with host Phil Keoghan at 8PM on CBS.
