Brooklyn Decker made a serious splash into our consciousness when she appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated‘s famed swimsuit issue in 2010. That coveted spot has been known to help launch the careers of many women and Decker is no different, as she begins her role as Jules Talley on the new CBS sitcom Friends with Better Lives.
In addition to her latest role, Decker recently moved from her home in Brooklyn, New York to the West Coast, where she lives with her husband, former #1 ranked men’s tenner player, Andy Roddick. How the pair met was rather typical for Hollywood; Roddick has his people call Decker’s people and, as the cliche goes, the rest is history.
“It’s a very Hollywood, ‘people calling people’ story,” said the 29-year-old Decker. “I fell for it and it worked.”
“It was definitely superficial, but not so superficial,” she jokingly added.
Decker also has an odd, yet funny story about how she was named. Her parents didn’t name her after the borough that bears her name because she was conceived there; her parents had never even been to New York. Instead, she’s named after an animal owned by her mother’s best friend.
“I was named after a horse, of all things,” said Decker.
Watch Brooklyn Decker on the series premiere of Friends with Better Lives, which airs after the series finale of How I Met You Mother at 9PM on CBS.
