Lou Reed Public Memorial Set for Thursday in New York
The music world lost a legend last month when Lou Reed died on Oct. 27 from liver disease. While musicians and music fans continue to mourn the loss of Reed, a public memorial for the singer and Velvet Underground leader has been set for Nov. 14 in New York.
According to his Facebook page, the memorial will be held tomorrow from 1:00-4:00 p.m. EST at The Paul Milstein Pool & Terrace at Lincoln Center.
“A gathering open to the public — no speeches. No live performances, just Lou’s voice, guitar music & songs — playing the recordings selected by his family and friends,” the page states.
