Pets need to stay away from the cold weather just as much as humans do, if not more! Here are some tips to help the little ones get through this cold spell:

First and foremost, pets suffer from hypothermia and frostbite just like we do, and most experts agree that once the temperatures gets below 20 degrees, pets should be brought inside.

Other things to look for:

• Animals both big and small can experience hypothermia and frostbite in the matter of minutes.
• Short walks outside and even some of those with sensitive pads should wear booties to be safe
• A sign pets may be experiencing stress from the cold weather include discoloration of their skin.
• They’re going to shiver or shake, be a little more tired and they’re not going to want to move around as much.
