Who Gave You The Flu? New App Helps You Find Out
Those chills. The fatigue and sore throat. Those pounding headaches and the sneezing. Face it: you have the flu.
As you load up on chicken noodle soup and vitamin C, you sit and wonder who in your life gave you such a dreaded ailment. Now, there is an app that is designed to tell you who exactly had the flu.
A new Facebook app now helps you pinpoint who in your circle of networking might have made you sick. The “Help, My Friend Gave Me the Flu” app takes at least some of the guesswork out of finding out who is sick with the flu by scrolling through posts on Facebook and zeroing in on phrases and words that may signify sickness with the flu.
The Facebook app also examines those Facebook users who update their statuses or add additional information on their Facebook page in the late night hours or early morning hours of a day, assuming that when one is sick they stay up late fighting the flu or other ailments.
Not only are you given a profile of those who may be sick with the flu using the new app, but you can also notify an ill friend that they infected you or have the potential to infect others around them.
As it gains in popularity and as many come to understand the new Facebook flu app from Help Remedies, it is being seen as an asset as several parts of the country reel from overwhelming outbreaks of influenza.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention: “People with flu can spread it to others up to about 6 feet away. Most experts think that flu viruses are spread mainly by droplets made when people with flu cough, sneeze or talk. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.”
Doctors and health care professionals maintain that the best defense against flu is still vaccination. There are additional steps you can take to remain healthy in the workplace and home. Hand washing with antibacterial soap and warm water for several seconds can help kill bacteria and germs. Using your arm instead of your hand to cover your mouth when you have to cough is also seen as ideal in suppressing germs. Finally, make sure you are eating a balanced diet of fruits, vegetables and other nutritious foods and getting plenty of rest is also a great defense against the flu.
