On Sunday, November 11, we celebrate those who have fought and sacrificed for the United States of America on Veterans Day.

To salute them for their bravery, CBS-FM will be showcasing the veterans of rock ‘n’ roll; artist who have earned their stripes by rocking for decade after decade… after decade… after decade…

Here are a few artists who haven’t lost a step after many years of rock ‘n’ roll, from these United Stated of America to across the pond in the United Kingdom.

Neil Young

For more than 50 years, Neil Young has done whatever the hell Neil Young has felt like doing. Unfortunately, that meant quite a few spontaneous band break ups over the years; Buffalo Springfield (TWICE), Crazy Horse, CSNY, and we can’t forget the epic telegram Young sent to Stephen Stills when leaving The Stills-Young Band:

“Dear Stephen, funny how some things that start spontaneously end that way. Eat a peach. Neil.”

Neil Young is truly one of a kind.

The Rolling Stones

Few bands have gone through more than The Rolling Stones: death, drugs, line-up changes, constant fighting and poking fun at each other’s manhood. But they have put it all aside for now and have released some new music and announced a tour for their 50th anniversary.

Eric Clapton has been rockin’ for quite some time. From his roles in The Yardbirds, Cream and as a solo artist to his guest appearances with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and B.B. King (there are also A LOT more).

He released latest studio album Clapton in 2010 (that makes 20 studio albums) and continues to tour.

The Who

Sure, The Who have gone on hiatus on several occasions, but they are still selling out crowds like they did 30 and 40 years ago. They just started their Quadrophenia tour and will be coming to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on November 14 (as long as things don’t too loud for Pete).

Bruce Springsteen

The Boss may not have been around as long as the rest of these guys, but few artists say “I love America and the working man” quite like Bruce Springsteen.

Bruce isn’t slowing down either. He just released a new album, is in the middle of a world wide tour (which include 3-4 hour sets) and even took time to perform during a rally for our (re-elected) President, Barack Obama.

Oh, and of course The Boss would never forget about his storm torn home of New Jersey, where he helped raise $23 million.
