Being that it is Wednesday, we here at CBS-FM are, of course, featuring one of your all-time favorite bands, The Beatles. But this Beatles Wednesday happens to fall on the birthday of Michael Jackson, so we’re sprinkling in some hits from the King of Pop throughout the day as well.

But this got us thinking; of these two legendary artists, who is truly the best? It’s a tough question to answer, so we broke it down into three categories for you to vote on. Will this settle the debate? Maybe not, but it should be fun to fight over it!

Most Loyal Fanbase

The Beatles turned an entire country on it’s collective head when they first ventured across the Atlantic, reportedly drawing 73 million viewers to their televisions for their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. Michael Jackson captured the hearts of America as a fresh-faced boy with the Jackson 5 before being crowned as the King of Pop, a title he would hold until his untimely death in 2009.

From the start to finish of their careers, fans of both The Beatles and Jackson never wavered. But who was more loyal? You tell us!

Best Style

The Beatles popularized a haircut and introduced an evolving style that matched their ever-changing music. Michael Jackson had Thriller jackets flying off the shelves and made wearing one glove cool.

Seriously, wearing ONE GLOVE was cool.

Cultural Impact

The Beatles influence on popular culture was massive. From pop music and politics to activism in various social and political movements, the Fab Four’s reach knew no bound.

While The Beatles influenced pop music, Jackson gave it a huge face lift (no pun intended). He redefined the music video and transformed it into an art while promoting racial diversity. Additionally, Jackson used his worldwide influence to promote humanitarian causes.
