Confirming wide-spread rumors, Neil Young and Crazy Horse will release their second record of 2013 this October, a double album called Psychedelic Pill. According to a message on Young’s website, “It was recorded right after Americana at Audio Casa Blanca.
A double-CD and triple-vinyl will be released because of the lengths of many of the songs, some of which were previewed in Crazy Horse’s live performances earlier this month. In the spirit of Americana’s release, full length videos for each of the songs will be available and previewed… Thanks for listening.”
Young and Crazy Horse have a few weeks off before kicking off a string of tour dates: they play Farm Aid in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on September 22, and then headline the Global Festival in Central Park, New York City on September 29, before kicking off their own headlining tour on October 3 in Ontario.
