This weekend, Manchester, Tennessee hosts one of the country’s largest music events, the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.
Bonnaroo started out as a jam-band-based festival (as opposed to Coachella’s hipper, more indie-rock focus). But in recent years, it’s expanded to include several legendary acts, including Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and reunions by The Buffalo Springfield and The Police.
The diverse lineup this year includes The Beach Boys and Alice Cooper. Many of the performances will be streamed online, including Cooper’s. According to the festival’s YouTube page, you can watch his performance at 10:45 pm Sunday night.
Other artists on the bill this year include Spectrum Road (a new group that features Jack Bruce of Cream and Vernon Reid of Living Colour), The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phish, Kenny Rogers, Colin Hay from Men At Work and a Van Halen tribute band called Unchained, as well as a number of comedians, including Aziz Ansari and Judah Friedlander.
