Sad news over the weekend, as it was revealed that Hogan’s Heroes actor and former Family Feud host Richard Dawson passed away from complications to esophageal cancer Saturday night at the age of 79.

Known as a swaggering, wisecracking entertainer, Dawson won a daytime Emmy Award in 1978 as “best game show host” and infamously kissed each woman contestant, a total of about 20,000 during the show’s first run from 1976-1985.

He made the delivery of the popular term on the show “Survey says…” a national catchphrase!

Dawson famously played an evil game show character in the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger action film The Running Man.
