Aerosmith axe man Joe Perry went to Twitter to announce to his legion of fans that the band will pack up their gear and head out for a tour that will span the US during the Summer of 2012.
Details are few and far between, but Perry did announce that tickets will be on sale soon!

Though the number of shows, dates, venues, and opening acts haven’t been revealed, we can safely assume more details will be revealed shortly if tickets go on sale in March.
UltimateClassicRock.com reports that the tour will work around Steven Tyler‘s American Idol schedule and their new album will “have a feel of the early stuff.”
“We’ve tried to bring that back,” Perry says. “People are always asking for something that sounds like the old stuff, but you can’t rewrite ‘Mama Kin’ or ‘Same Old Song And Dance.’ All you can do is start from the same place you started when you made those records.”
Assuming Aeromsith comes to the tri-state (And why wouldn’t they? I mean… come on.), where do you want to see them perform?
