Retail employees were informed that a “private company event” was scheduled and that the stores will temporarily close during that time. One of the employees who spoke to the Journal said the event would last for up to three hours.
The employees-only celebration will come two weeks after Jobs’ death. Apple also announced yesterday they sold more than four million copies of the iPhone 4S in its first three days of availability, a record for the company.
