Sting Celebrates 60th Birthday with Star-Studded Concert in NYC

Sting celebrated his 60th Birthday the best way he knew how… by having every major recording artists in the music industry perform on stage with him. Guest performers included Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, and countless others, whom all gathered at New York City’s Beacon Theatre to raise money for the Robin Hood Foundation.

Sting’s 60th birthday also coincides with his 25th Anniversary as a solo artist, and along with The Boss, Billy, and Stevie, the birthday boy also had [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lady Gaga[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Mary J. Blige[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Herbie Hancock[/lastfm], Robert Downey Jr., [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Vince Gill[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”][/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Rufus Wainwright[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Branford Marsalis[/lastfm], and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Chris Botti[/lastfm] on hand to perform.

The event raised $3.7 million for the Robin Hood Foundation, an organization that fights poverty by funding the best and most effective programs in New York City.
