UltimateClassicRock.com reports that Jagger spoke with UK tabloid The Sun about the rumors surrounding a tour for the Stones’ 50th Anniversary in 2012.
“Don’t hold your breath,” the pillow-lipped front man told the mag. Fans of the band were overjoyed when the rumors began after the four members were spotted leaving a meeting in London. Many speculated that “the greatest rock & roll band in the world” would reunite for a performance at the London Olympics.
Jagger has been busy with his newly formed super group, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]SuperHeavy[/lastfm], with members [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Dave Stewart[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Joss Stone[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Damian Marley[/lastfm], and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]A. R. Rahman[/lastfm]. Their eponymous debut album was released on September 16th, and depending on how it is received, could occupy much of Jagger’s time.
“If people like it, we could do a few other things.”
