If you want to see [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Bruce Springsteen[/lastfm] perform live these days, you’re going to have to start hanging out in karaoke bars and parks along the east coast. While The Boss was up in Bean Town yesterday, he decided to borrow a buskers’ guitar and play a lil’ tune in the Boston Public Garden.

We’re not sure if he took a cut from the earnings tossed into the guitar case.

It was only a few weeks ago that Bruce showed up to Asbury Park’s Wonder Bar to jam with the late Clarence Clemons’ son, and now he’s playing in public parks with street performers.  The Boston Herald speculates Springsteen was up in The City on the Hill to drop his son Evan off at Boston College (Go Notre Dame!). I imagine the conversation went as follows:

Evan: “Hey, dad… can we pick up a mini fridge for my room? I want to keep my bee… errrr, Gatorade cold. Need those electrolytes for studying!”

Bruce: “Sure son. But I have a hankerin’ to play. I’m gonna hang out with this busker for a while.”

Evan: “DAD! You’re embarrassing me on my first day at college!”

Bruce: “Cool it, kid. I’m about to fill up your social calendar for the entire Fall semester.”

OK, maybe that’s an exaggeration. Check out the video.

Pretty cool, eh? Just two problems:

  • Jojo23jojo23, why would you only shoot 27 seconds of video? Consider yourself kicked out of the A/V club.
  • Guy who keeps talking… SHUT IT!  We’re trying to hear Bruce play.

That being said, start hanging out at your local watering hole and public parks. Bring a Flip Cam, and keep your eyes peeled for Bruce Springsteen.
