Yes, the rumors are true…A new version of the Star Trek TV series is in the works! Even more exciting, the show is already developed and ready to go with just an “OK” from a network needed!

The iconic sci-fi series that debuted in 1966 with William Shatner as Captain Kirk is being prepared for a sixth version for the small screen.

The writer and producer of Battlestar Galactica has developed a new version of the series that will be set after the Voyager era and promises to keep continuity with the previous shows, movies, and possibly the J.J. Abrams 2009 reboot.

The show will soon be pitched to CBS, who, along with Paramount, owns the rights to Star Trek. The series concept is fully developed with a 5 to 7 year series plan, pilot script, and a finale.
