We all love movies about rock stars, so maybe it’s about time some studio got together the cash to make a film about the eccentric and often self-destructive drummer of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Who[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Keith Moon[/lastfm]. And producers wouldn’t even have to look far to find an actor to play the lead role, because someone’s services are already being volunteered.

Jeremy Piven would love to play the part.

UltimateClassicRock.com that Piven, known as the Blackberry wielding, foul-mouthed, hot-shot agent “Ari Gold” on HBO‘s Entourage, told FOX News that though he has had a long career in acting, there is one role he would dearly love to fill.

“Remember the drummer from The Who, Keith Moon? I’d love to play the Keith Moon story.”

With a little hair and make-up, Piven could easily look the part of “Moon the Loon.” Couple that with his already off-the-wall antics as Hollywood’s biggest and baddest agent and you’re definitely cooking with gas.

Oh, and his role as party animal “James ‘Droz’ Andrew” in PCU has the whole drunken debauchery aspect of moon’s life covered.

But Piven must not be aware of the Moon biopic already in production. See Me, Feel Me: Keith Moon Naked for Your Pleasure, which is being produced by Spitfire Pictures/Gerber Pictures, is set to star the spy who shagged everyone, Mike Myers.

There are little to no details on the film, including a release date or trailer.
