We’ve already broken the record high temperature for July 22 when it hit 102 degrees in Central Park today. 102!!! The old record of 101 was set in 1957.
That’s what you call H.A.M. (Hot As a Mother….)!
As you’re probably well aware, New York City opens cooling centers in air-conditioned public community centers, senior centers and public libraries to offer people relief from the heat. But the city has a metric ton of free polls to cool off in as well.
Here’s a list, so stay cool out there people!

All 54 Parks’ Dept. outdoor pools opened for the season on June 29th, 2011.
Outdoor pool hours are from 11:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m., with a break for pool cleaning between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. And believe me, you want them pools CLEANED!
Indoor pools are open year-round. Check with the individual recreation centers for schedules. Recreation center membership ($150 per year for adults; $25 per year for seniors; free for children and teens under the age of 18) is required for the use of our indoor pools.
