The documentary utilizes never-before-seen home videos and photographs, giving fans a look into Harrison’s life through his own words. Scorsese was aided by Olivia Harrison, widow to the late musician, who helped produce the documentary. She also praised the Academy Award winning director for his “intuition towards George” that helped him sense “what George was about: his music, his strong beliefs, his art, his place in the Beatles’ story and his extraordinary life afterwards.”
“George was making spiritually awake music,” Scorsese said. “We all heard and felt it – and I think that was the reason he came to occupy a very special place in our lives.”
