[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Mick Jagger[/lastfm]’s new band, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]SuperHeavy[/lastfm], has finished recording their debut album and has plans for a September release, as well as a music video for the album’s first single, “Miracle Worker.”
Mick’s new bandmate’s are being hailed as a super group, but many of us already place [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Rolling Stones[/lastfm] in that category, so this is nothing new to Sir Mick Jagger.
SuperHeavy consists of Jagger, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Eurythmics[/lastfm] guitarist [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dave Stewart[/lastfm], reggae crooner [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Damian Marley[/lastfm], soul singer [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Joss Stone[/lastfm] and Indian music composer [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]A.R. Rahman[/lastfm].
Jagger announced the formation of the band in late May of this year, who have accomplished quite a bit of writing and recording in a short period of time. In their first week together the members wrote twenty-two songs and laid down most of the tracks over a three week span earlier this year in Los Angeles. Since that time, the members of SuperHeavy have recorded in various studios around the world, including France, Cyprus, Miami, and India.
“It is a different kind of record than what people would expect,” Jagger explained to Rolling Stone Magazine last month. “It’s not all weird and strange though. I think Stones fans will think it’s a bit odd, but they’ll find most of it accessible.”
Before releasing their album in September, the band plans on gathering together to record a music video for the debut single, entitled “Miracle Worker.”
